25th September 2023 - Peal Rung
A peal was rung in the early evening of Treorchy Surprise Royal. In 3 hours and 15 minutes 5040 changes.

28th September 2023 - Tower Clock Chimes Repaired
Our tower clock hasn't been chiming the hours for nearly two years. A faulty electric motor was the problem, the motor provides the power to make the clockwork mechanism operate the chime hammer. As of today it is working again. New motors have been fitted to both the hour strike and dial trains of the clock.
14th August 2023 - Tower Clock Repairs
The tower clock hasn't chimed the hours for the last two years. Smiths of Derby Clockmakers have been this week and taken away the faulty part. They are designing a new section and it will be fitted mack as soon as possible. In the meantime the clock is stopped. The hands on the dial are parked at 12 o-clock.
When all the new parts are fitted the clock will once again strike the hours on the tenor bell.
25th May 2023 - Peal Rung by the YACR
A peal of 5040 Cambridge Surprise Royal was rung by members of the Yorkshire Association of Change Ringers in 2 hours and 58 minutes. More information with this link to the Bellboard website.
6th May 2023
Our bells were rung For the coronation of their Royal Highnesses King Charles III and Queen Camilla, which took place in Westminster Abbey today. From 9.30am to 10.15am our team rang rounds and call changes and Plain Bob Triples.
16th March 2023 - Peal Rung by the YACR
Members of the Yorkshire Association of Change Ringers rang a Peal of 5040 Yorkshire Surprise Royal in 2 hours and 52 minutes. More information on the Bellboard website.

All ten bells ringing for the evening chorale evensong service with Steel City Choristers.
25 February 2023 Visiting Team
We were pleased to welcome The Society of Roving Ringers to St Mary's today. The group were on their reunion weekend 2023. Our bells were rung from 2pm to 3pm. More information about the group here.
